🧬 Translation (Protein Synthesis) : Molecular Biology • process • Post Transcriptional Modifications • Biochemistry • MBBS
Translation (Protein Synthesis) is the process by which the genetic information encoded in mRNA is decoded by ribosomes to synthesize a specific polypeptide chain (protein). It occurs in the cytoplasm and involves three major stages: Initiation, Elongation, and Termination. During this process, tRNA molecules bring amino acids according to mRNA codons, and peptide bonds are formed to produce a functional protein essential for cellular structure, metabolism, growth, and regulation.
